Devan & John, Owners

Hello there! We are Devan & John, the owners of Barnhouse Pet Sitting, LLC. We are an experienced, young couple with a HUGE love for animals. Devan, a former EMT of 7 years, is now in nursing school, pursuing her BSN. John is an automotive technician with a special interest in German & luxury cars.

We’re from Colorado and are keen on giving back to our community by caring for the most beloved family members - pets. We have ample experience with pet care and pet sitting; we have cared for birds, chickens, cats, dogs, ducks, fish, goats, horses, and llamas! From puppies to pets in their golden years, we have provided stress-free pet care to homeowners, making vacations a breeze.

You can check out reviews from our loyal clients. We are both insured as professional pet & house sitters and have significant experience with pets with medical issues. Furthermore, John is very skilled with our aviary friends and I am familiar with house maintenance and farm animals, so we will be very comfortable taking care of your home and above all, ensuring happy tails while you're away.

Stevie – Lead Pet Sitter

We’re so excited to welcome Stevie to the Barnhouse Pet Sitting team! As Devan’s mom and John’s mother-in-law, Stevie is the heart of where our family’s love for animals truly began.

After over two decades as a paralegal and notary public, Stevie is stepping into a new phase of life, one that brings her even closer to what she loves most: animals. She’s already developed her own list of happy clients and has become our go-to chicken care specialist thanks to her experience raising her own backyard flock.

With two dogs, a 18-year-old cat at home (who is thriving in his old age and still going strong!), and several beloved chickens, Stevie brings both personal experience and professional reliability to the Barnhouse family. Her clients know they can count on her for trustworthy, compassionate care and thoughtful attention to detail.

When she’s not pet sitting, you’ll find Stevie walking her pups, snuggling her chickens, or sneaking off for her favorite treat, a Chai from Starbucks. We’re so lucky to have her on the team!

Meet Sean – Our Secret Pet Whisperer

Sean has a magical way with sassy pups and kitties, and he wins them over every time. Whether it is a shy cat hiding under the bed or a dog with a big personality, Sean connects with them like they have been lifelong friends.

Outside of pet care, Sean is a talented musician who loves to play guitar, write songs, and craft unique beverages. You can often find him in his studio working on what just might be the next big hit.

Sean’s love for animals runs deep, from caring for stray birds and cats as a child to loving our own 18-year-old kitty at home, alongside our family pups Luna (pictured), Willow, and Jaxon. With Sean, pets receive more than care; they receive friendship, patience, and genuine affection. When he is on the job, be prepared to receive funny pictures and lighthearted updates that will brighten your day.

For Overnight and 24-hour care, Sean teams up with Emma to be the best pet sitter duo and power couple around.

Meet Emma – Our Secret Cat Whisperer

Emma has a special gift for winning over even the shyest of cats, making every furry friend feel like part of her family. From rescuing stray cats and dogs on her farm property to nursing them back to health, Emma’s compassion and patience shine through in every interaction. Every furry and feathered creature knows they are in safe hands when Emma walks into the room.

When she is not caring for our beloved clients, Emma is at home tending to her own fur family- two spirited Huskies and a rescue kitty.

Not to mention Emma is a true foodie at heart. She knows all the best local spots, from the perfect butcher to the sweetest dessert shop. If you need a recommendation, she is your go-to guide. And if that is not impressive enough, Emma can also fly small planes. Truly, what can’t she do?

Myckala – Future Pet Sitting Star

Myckala is a lifelong animal lover with a deep passion for caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. Raised in a home filled with dogs, cats, and horses, her love for animals began early and has only grown stronger with time. Today, she shares her home with two beloved cats who hold a special place in her heart.

Her pet care experience is rooted in years of caring for her own animals as well as providing trusted care for the pets of friends and family. She also enjoys volunteering with animals whenever possible and is always eager to expand her knowledge of animal behavior and species-specific needs.

Myckala understands that leaving your pets in someone else’s care can be difficult, which is why she takes her role seriously, offering reliable, compassionate care that helps pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their humans are away. From playtime and cuddles to maintaining consistent routines, she treats every animal with the same affection and attention she gives her own.

Outside of pet care, Myckala enjoys yoga, painting, reading nonfiction, and spending time with her family. She is also a proud graduate of Arizona State University.
